Where we focus on our youth

Capture the Future:

Youth Photography Classes

Imagine a society where the beauty of the environment empowers young people rather than TV, video games, and cell phones. A world where students from 10 to 17 years old can escape the digital diversion and immerse themselves in nature, armed not with a cell phone but with a camera that captures moments, stories, and dreams. This vision is at the heart of our Youth Photography Classes, an initiative designed to inspire, educate, and uplift young minds through the art and discipline of photography.

How Photography Can Help Kids with Creativity and Self-Confidence

There is a growing concern for our children and teens well-being among many parents. The struggle to find effective ways to support their mental health can feel overwhelming. A lesser-known yet powerful tool in this battle is photography. Combining the benefits of art therapy and the outdoors, photography offers a unique way to help children express themselves and find joy in their surroundings. Let's explore how this creative outlet can make a difference.

The Healing Power of Photography

Photography serves as a form of ART- Therapy, providing kids with a creative way to express their emotions. Unlike traditional therapy sessions, which can sometimes feel intimidating, photography allows children and teens to explore their feelings in a non-verbal and non-intrusive manner. Capturing images can make it easier to manage and understand their emotions.

Our biggest goal is to get outdoors.

One of the biggest benefits of photography is that it encourages kids to get outside. This is what we do at Sharp Shooter Foto. We spend time in nature, which has been shown to have a positive impact on mental health, reducing stress levels and improving overall well-being. Photography provides a purposeful reason to explore the outdoors, whether it's a day on the ranch, a walk in the park, or a trip to the beach. Engaging in photography can lead to increased self-esteem, an improved mood, and a greater sense of accomplishment. These positive outcomes demonstrate the potential of photography as a therapeutic tool.

Photography offers a creative and therapeutic way for children and teens to cope with their emotions. By encouraging self-expression, participating in outdoor activities, and providing a sense of achievement, it can play a vital role in their mental health journey. If you're considering new ways to support your child's well-being, why not give photography a shot? The results might surprise you.

By integrating photography into your child's routine, you might discover a powerful tool to help them manage their feelings and improve their overall mental health. Ready to see the benefits first-hand?

What do you have to lose? We offer scholarships, so your child can attend at no cost. All we ask is for the child to write a short essay about themselves and why they want to start photography or why they enjoy photography.

Our Vision

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, including myself, a master photographer with a deep passion for the outdoors and photography, we aim to introduce youth to the power of visual storytelling.

Our program currently offers a 4-month-long workshop with 6 meetings and a group page for just the students and instructors to ask questions and share images they capture, along with monthly assignments. Soon, we will be offering weekend classes, week-long workshops, and summer camps.

Sign up your son or daughter today and watch as they capture not just images but moments of joy.

  • My motivation stems from a lifetime of exploration and a career capturing moments that tell stories without words. I have seen firsthand how photography can change perspectives, instill discipline, and foster an appreciation for the simple, breathtaking beauty of our world. Now, I aspire to share this passion with the upcoming generation.
